Come Dine With Me legend who served food on a plank is pregnant with first baby

Come Dine With Me legend Claire Phillips has revealed the exciting news that she is pregnant with her first child and is due any day now.

The Spa Therapist from Cardiff became well-known for serving her food on the show on a plank, and famously said: “As in a restaurant you would have it on a plank, wouldn't you?” The clip from the show went viral online and has become one of the most well-known moments – even five years later.

Claire’s episode featured in season 43 of the show, where she starred alongside fellow contestants Scott, Anna, Charlotte, and Giovanni.

Now, the TV star and social media sensation has shared a few glimpses of her growing baby bump on Instagram and revealed she is preparing to welcome the arrival of her first baby any day now.


Claire looked stunning in a fitted green dress that hugged her huge baby bump as she dressed up to attend a Christmas party.

The Come Dine With Me star captioned the snap: “I had to squeeze one more night out in before hanging up my party shoes! Lol! C section all booked in as the baby is growing rapidly! Lol! So time to rest up now! Not long now baby!”

In another recent post, she flaunted her bump as she attended her own graduation while heavily pregnant. Claire shared a few sweet snaps where she wore her university cap and gown to mark the occasion.

Claire previously toldWales Onlinethat she appeared on the show because she was “in the right place at the right time”.

Claire recalled: “I was working in Bannatyne in Cardiff at the time. I'm a therapist but was on reception one day when someone rung and asked if they knew of anyone who wanted to take part in the show. I was like 'yes' and had to apply – I was in the right place at the right time.

“At first I thought it might have been a joke. I had to apply and then I had a phone interview and things and then just after Christmas they got back to me. There were quite a few rounds to get through.”

Claire close her own menu for her hosting night and opted for "prawns on a plank" to start with "steak Americano" for the main. She finished off the eventful evening with a chocolate sundae with a twist.
