Zara McDermott has said she is ready for a "chilled" Christmas after undergoing a mystery medical procedure, which saw her spend time in hospital.
The Strictly Come Dancing star, 27, who has been busy celebrating her birthday, took to her Instagram Stories to reveal she underwent a "little procedure" on Monday, 18 December. Zara posted a selfie from a hospital bed, in which she could be seen wearing pink festive pyjamas and showing off her hospital wrist tag.
"Had a little procedure done yesterday!" Zara told fans. "Now ready for a super chilld Xmas." The ex-Love Islander has not disclosed the nature of the procedure she underwent or any further details.
Zara's health update comes after she finally reunited with boyfriend Sam Thompson following weeks apart. Sam, 31, jetted to Australia in November to take part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and was crowned King of the Jungle.
Zara was unable to jet out to Oz to support her beau due to her work commitments, which included the Strictly Come Dancing final, with Sam's best pal Pete Wicks, 35, heading to Australia to support him instead.
Zara and Sam have both had a very busy few months and it looks like they're not planning to slow down anytime soon, with reports claiming the couple, whose love life originally played out on screen during reality show Made In Chelsea, have set their sights on cracking America.
A source told OK: “Sam’s profile has catapulted since appearing on I’m A Celeb and winning the competition was the cherry on top, Plus, Zara’s Strictly stint means they are both on the way up. Their real dream though is to crack America.”
The duo have both experience an incredibly successful three months on primetime TV and are now said to be looking at working together rather than separately.
“They want to start doing things as a couple as well as separately, there are even talks of them doing This Morning,” the source continued. “They’re so in love and sweet, the public love them and they’re set to be the next power couple.”
Sam currently hosts a daily show on Hits Radio and also co-presents podcast Staying Relevant with ex-TOWIE favourite Pete. The pair are set to embark on a sold-out UK tour in 2024, as they take their highly popular podcast on the road.
Meanwhile, Zara has established herself as a TV presenter and documentary maker over the past three years, with the 27 year old having fronted several hard-hitting documentaries. She initially found fame on Love Island in 2018.
